We give you 7 Reasons to Work from Home and ditch the daily commute. We only need one reason but heck that’s just us. Working from home is not a foreign concept anymore. It’s catching on, more and more people choose to work online because it means they have more control over their time. Yes, there are challenges but the pros outweigh the cons by far. So if are considering switching from an office job to working online read our 7 reasons to work from home and let us inspire you.
Save the Planet
Yes, you can save the planet by working from home or remotely by cutting down on your carbon footprint and not use your vehicle to get to the office every day. Go green and contribute to a healthier planet.
Dress Like You Want
Get creative and have a star wars day every day. Yes, you can dress up like Darth Vader, Captain Hook or whatever you like and no one will judge you. Okay, we know this is a little far-fetched but the truth is that if you work online you can wear comfortable clothing every day. Wear those faded jeans you love so much. No ironing that white shirt every morning when you are already late. Sounds fantastic, doesn’t it? I don’t know about you but I always hated dressing up corporate. On a more serious note, it’s important to remember that you will be far more productive if you get up and get ‘dressed’ for work and follow through on a good schedule rather than work when you feel like it. Working at home requires a lot of discipline.
Save Time (Great Reasons to Work from Home)
Add up the time you spend every morning and afternoon getting to work and back. I bet you realizing now that you are spending a considerable time in traffic. I use to drive to work and spend at least 2 hours in traffic every day. That is equal to 40 hours a month, an entire work week spent in a car and I’m not earning a cent for it. It’s a tragedy! This is a major reason we decided to work online.
You will save a ton of money on fuel and unhealthy lunches. I’m sure you will agree that It’s far more convenient to prepare a healthy delicious lunch at home rather than buy greasy burgers from the canteen or worse eat your cold leftovers from the night before. Since you are not commuting you obviously don’t have to fill up your gas tank. You can easily save up to $400 a month.
Okay, so you may have to report to someone if you are working for an online company but there will be no one breathing down your neck and check your every move. Managing yourself can be great since you can work out your own schedule. Personally, I’m far more productive working at night and pretty useless in the morning. I can get my work done in half the time.
Working online allows you to work from anywhere. So if you work from home you can really spruce up your space and make it unique to you. For those undercover designers and decorators, it’s a dream come true. I don’t know about you, but I find that if my workspace is inspiring I produce better quality work. For those traveling a view of the beach can be your office one day while a mountain vista can be your view the next.
Work Fewer Hours
You won’t need 8 hours to complete your day’s work. You never ever actually worked 8 full hours. A lot of the time was taken up with coffee, bathroom breaks, and chit-chat. Or maybe I’m wrong and you are a workaholic? My point is that you will be less distracted and motivated because you are doing something you like and therefore will finish your work in less time.
If you are considering quitting your grinding 9-5 existence we suggest you upskill and make the move. You won’t regret it. Bear in mind that there are challenges. Decide if you want a permanent position with a reputable company that you know will pay on time or if you want to start your own online business. Have you considered teaching English Online?
