Thanks for the info on how to set up a pinterest account. I recently set mine up and really wished I would have read your guide before hand. I struggled at first on whether or not to do a business account and had to go back and change it later. It was a little confusing for me!

    Celeste,
Very helpful article. I know that a lot of people are using pinterest to promote their businesses. I’m new to pinterest and really just figuring out how FB works! What types of things do you post to your pinterest account? Do you link back to your website? Also, what’s the best way to promote on pinterest, is it more organic or paid? Thanks for your help

      Hi David,

Welcome to Pinterest. I have found that niche subjects related to travel, cooking, blogging, clothing, hair, photography, fitness, home, lifestyle and decor work really well on Pinterest. You can post anything to your Pinterest account just make sure that what you post correlates to the theme of your board you are posting to. Your pins should be eye-catching.  Pinterest is all organic so you don’t have to pay anything.  If you want to fast pace your followers and pins then maybe look at what Tailwind can offer you. They offer a free month membership.  They hook you up with other Pinners who pin the same type of content you do.  You share their pins and they share your pins making your content spread to a wider audience.    Also keep in mind the ideal aspect ratio for a vertical Pin is 2:3—600px wide x 900px high.

      Happy Pinning!
